Carpenters of the future shine in the BTX Learner of the Year Competition
As headline sponsor, Paslode UK were proud to support the very first BTX Carpentry & Joinery Learner of the Year competition. The competition took place over two heats, with a northern and southern heat followed by the Grand Final, which took place at Stephenson College on 21st April. The event brought together six of the best upcoming carpentry and joinery students from across the UK, all competing in a live practical challenge designed to reflect real on-site conditions The finalists were: The standard of participants was impressive, with a lot of talent, attention to detail, and professionalism on display throughout. Congratulations to Harry Addicott of Exeter College, who was crowned the overall winner and special recognition to Alfie Simpson, also from Exeter College, who delivered an excellent performance to secure the Runner‑Up position. Both were worthy winners in what was a fiercely competitive final.
